Upgrade commercial doors with a complete UL 752 Level 3 bullet resistant door lite kit from Liberty Shielding. Each kit includes both the bullet resistant glass and heavy-duty door lite frame, providing a complete ballistic vision panel for installation into compatible doors.
Designed for 1-3/4" to 2" thick doors, these ballistic door lite kits provide transparent protection while maintaining visibility through secured entrances, interior doors, and other controlled openings.
UL 752 Level 3 protection is designed to resist the specified .44 Magnum handgun threat, making these door vision kits an excellent choice for schools, government buildings, offices, security facilities, and other locations requiring enhanced ballistic protection.

Our standard bullet resistant door glass and frame assembly provides UL 752 Level 3 ballistic protection.
UL 752 establishes specific ballistic threats and test requirements for bullet resistant building materials. Level 3 is commonly specified for commercial and institutional applications requiring protection against higher-powered handgun threats.
This isn't just a piece of ballistic glass. Each kit includes:
Providing the glass and frame together eliminates the need to source a separate vision frame capable of accommodating the thick ballistic glazing.
The size you order is the required door cut-out size.
For example, when ordering a:
24" x 24" Door Lite Kit
you will have approximately:
The visible glass is approximately 2" smaller than the ordered size, while the overall frame is approximately 2" larger.
Measure and enter your required door cut-out dimensions when ordering.
The transparent portion of the assembly uses laminated bullet resistant safety glazing engineered to provide ballistic protection while maintaining visibility through the door.
Unlike ordinary tempered or laminated safety glass, ballistic glazing uses a specialized multi-layer construction designed to absorb and disperse energy from firearm impacts.
Ballistic door vision panels are commonly installed in commercial and institutional facilities where occupants require both visibility and increased protection.
Common applications include:
A conventional door lite kit is primarily designed to provide visibility through a door. Even when ordinary safety glass is used, it should not be assumed to provide ballistic protection.
A bullet resistant door lite uses specialized ballistic glazing and a compatible heavy-duty frame to create a vision opening designed for a specific ballistic threat.
Our standard kit is designed for UL 752 Level 3 protection, providing a purpose-built solution for projects requiring ballistic-resistant door glazing.
You may see these products referred to as bulletproof door windows, bulletproof door glass, or bulletproof vision panels, but bullet resistant is the more accurate terminology.
Ballistic glazing is tested against specific firearm and ammunition threats. No glazing should be assumed to resist every type of ballistic threat.
For that reason, the required UL 752 protection level should be determined based on the security requirements of the project.
Installing a UL 752 Level 3 door lite kit does not automatically make a standard door bullet resistant.
For the complete opening to provide the intended level of ballistic protection, the door, door frame, glazing, lite frame, hardware, surrounding wall construction, and other relevant components must provide the appropriate protection for the specified threat.
If your project requires a complete ballistic door assembly, make sure all components are selected according to the project's security requirements.
In addition to our standard UL 752 Level 3 configuration, Liberty Shielding can provide custom sizes, quantities, and ballistic protection levels for specialized projects.
Custom configurations are available for projects with requirements beyond the standard options available for online ordering.
Typical lead time: 3–4 weeks.
Yes. The kit includes both the bullet resistant glazing and heavy-duty door lite frame. You do not need to purchase the glass and vision frame separately.
Order according to the door cut-out dimensions.
For example, if your door has or requires a 24" x 24" cut-out, order a 24" x 24" door lite kit.
The visible glass area is approximately 2" smaller than the ordered width and height.
A 24" x 24" order size therefore provides approximately 22" x 22" of visible glass.
The overall frame is approximately 2" larger than the ordered width and height.
For example, a 24" x 24" ordered size has an overall frame dimension of approximately 26" x 26".
The door lite frame is designed for doors approximately 1-3/4" to 2" thick.
UL 752 Level 3 is a ballistic resistance classification designed around the standard's specified .44 Magnum handgun threat.
The kit can be installed into a compatible door of the appropriate thickness, but installing ballistic glass into a standard door does not make the entire door assembly bullet resistant. If complete ballistic protection is required, the door and surrounding assembly must also provide the required ballistic resistance.
“Bulletproof door window” is a common search term for this type of product, but bullet resistant door lite is more technically accurate. The assembly is designed to resist the specific ballistic threat associated with its tested rating rather than every possible firearm threat.
